This Earth Day, we at Eco Sathi Nepal partnered with Bhoomithan Nepal and Agri Studio Nepal to celebrate our planet by planting trees. The event started with the spontaneous organization of children in the beautiful farm of Agri Studio, followed by the joyful plantation of Guava trees, and involved the young generation to protect the planet for our collective future. The day was a culmination of joy, action, learning, and connection with nature.
In Agri Studio’s peaceful garden, six guava saplings were planted by a group of kids. We gathered together for the day of learning and exploration, and joined in the activity, transforming it into a truly collective moment of care for the Earth. The children with their muddy hands, bright smiles, and joyful cries of “Happy Earth Day!” brought life to the soil and made the day what it truly should be i.e., about the earth and its future.
The event was special because it was not just the act of tree planting, but it wasa tree plantation done by young children. Children are not just the inheritors of this beautiful planet, Earth and they are also powerful agents of change. Allowing them to physically connect with the Earth, to plant and nurture life, is important as it fosters values of responsibility, empathy, and environmental protection from a young age. It also makes them closer to nature and teaches them to have ownership and a personal connection with trees and nature.
Agri Studio Nepal is an eco-learning farm, a safe space committed to bringing sustainable farming and agriculture. Agri Studio offers experiential farm stays and fresh food while being grounded in education and community connection. Surrounded by greenery, Agri Studio offers the perfect environment to be close to nature and our agricultural roots. Their vision aligns perfectly with Eco Sathi Nepal’s mission of building a more conscious, connected relationship with the planet.
Our event partner, Bhoomithan Nepal, is an enterprise that transforms discarded temple flowers into handcrafted rope incense (phoolbatti). Founded by Amod Karmacharya and Goonja Shrestha, Bhoomithan creates chemical-free, 100% biodegradable incense that honors both nature and Nepali cultural traditions. Their work not only reduces floral waste but also provides employment opportunities for women from marginalized communities. Their core product: incense, shows how tradition and innovation can come together for a greener Nepal.
